NeuroLeap Corp - Software Engineering Intern (Backend Developer)

NeuroLeap Corp is a start-up leveraging AI to develop multi-sensory & dynamic feedback technologies that incorporate children's desire to play. As a result of this, schools can now much better meet their legal requirement to educate children with learning disabilities, in a cost effective way.

Amongst a team of four other backend developers, we were tasked with implementing new features for one of the company's websites. This initiative included developing the user sign-up/sign in experience with authentication, complemented by migrating readily available user data to include additional parameters. We achieved a notable 30% decrease in database query response times by optimizing PostgreSQL queries, enhancing system speed and reliability. Additionally, I was tasked with the deployment of tests using Supertest and Jest frameworks, playing a crucial role in simulating HTTP requests and conducting unit tests, thus elevating code quality and ensuring platform reliability.

ASUCD Pantry - Full-Stack Developer (Volunteer)

The Pantry, operated by students, aims to eliminate food insecurity among their peers on campus. It functions through donations and volunteer efforts, allowing students to use their student IDs to obtain necessary items for free.

Within a collaborative effort of a four-member developer team, we successfully designed and built one of the initial versions of the website (https://thepantry.ucdavis.edu/). Designed to serve a diverse community of 40,000 students, along with faculty and staff, the platform empowers users to make donations, view the current inventory, volunteer on-site, and engage in various other supportive activities.
